Bernard Hay is a researcher, writer and curator working across contemporary design. He is currently Head of Research and Design Practice at Design Council, the UK’s national strategic advisor on design.
Currently, he leads Design Economy – a national programme of research into the social, environmental and economic value of design to the UK – and the Design for Planet Fellowship – a programme harnessing collective intelligence to explore new design skills and methods to address the climate and biodiversity crises.
Previously he worked at the Design Museum in London, where he helped to establish the Future Observatory programme and oversaw the museum’s adult learning, academic and community programmes. He is an Associate Lecturer in design theory and social innovation at University of Arts London and a Fellow of the RSA.
